Antipodean Underwriting Pty Ltd (“Antipodean Underwriting”) is committed to providing support to Customers experiencing Financial Hardship. This Financial Hardship Policy (“Policy”) sets out how Antipodean Underwriting will support Customers who are affected by Financial Hardship and outlines how you can request support.

What is Financial Hardship?

For the purposes of this Policy, "Financial Hardship" means difficulty meeting financial obligations, including obligations owed to Antipodean Underwriting. Common causes of Financial Hardship include, but is not limited to:

Involuntarily unemployment or a significant reduction in income;

Disability;

Mental illness or other illness;

Death or serious injury;
-
Divorce or breakdown of a de facto relationship;

Property loss or other financial impact due to a natural disaster;

An unexpected and non-discretionary significant cost.
How can we help you?

If Financial Hardship support is provided, Antipodean Underwriting will work with you or your representative to implement an arrangement that could include:

Delaying the date of payment(s)

Paying in reasonable instalments
-
Paying a reduced lump sum amount
-
Delaying one or more instalment payments
-
Deducting the excess from a claim amount
Antipodean Underwriting will also adhere to the timeframes under the General Insurance Code of Practice (2020) (Code) to ensure that assistance is offered in a timely manner.
The support that Antipodean Underwriting provides does not include paying or waiving premiums that are due and payable for an insurance policy.

How can you access Financial Hardship Support?

Antipodean Underwriting recognises that those experiencing financial hardship quite often require urgent support. There is no need to complete any forms, simply write directly to the CEO of Antipodean Underwriting, who is our Financial Hardship Officer and is authorised to deal with your application for support as may be necessary. The reasons why you are requesting Financial Hardship Support

The Financial Hardship Support that you are requesting

Any evidence in support of your application (such as police reports, medical certificates, bank statements, etc)
How we Assess your Application for Financial Hardship Support
Once we are in receipt of your Application for Financial Hardship Support, we will review all of the information that you have provided us with and call you to discuss potential ways in which we could assist you. If you do not wish for us to call you because you are in danger, please let us know in your Application for Financial Hardship Support how best we can get in contact with you to discuss your circumstances.
We will endeavour to provide you with any support necessary in getting through your Financial Hardship and we will do our best to respect your wishes.
